Iron Gold by Pierce Brown – Rising Above to Remarkable Heights

August 7, 2023 by Ashley Brennan 1 Comment

I’m always shocked that Iron Gold is considered the weakest book in the series by many people. It’s the best book in the series by a significant margin. With Light Bringer’s recent release, I’ve been seeing rankings popping up again. This is my response to the crime being committed at seeing Iron Gold consistently ranking at the bottom.

Review: Starter Villain by John Scalzi

August 4, 2023 by Arun Leave a Comment

A humorous and fun take on super villains that sits between a spoof and a satire. Good as a light read or as a palate cleanser between heavier reads.

I adored The Witch’s Heart so I had high hopes for The Weaver and the Witch Queen, and I’m very happy to tell you that I completely adored it! Gornichec has a way to taking these historical fantasy stories and making them unputdownable. She weaves a stunning tale of female bonds, magic and found family.
