Review: The Wisdom of Crowds (The Age of Madness #3) by Joe Abercrombie

August 28, 2021 by Cassidee Lanstra Leave a Comment

e Age of Madness trilogy. The Wisdom of Crowds started off at such a heightened state of terror that it caused my neck to prickle with anxiety from the beginning. This novel takes off at breakneck speed and does not let up. It might be one of the most brutal Abercrombie books that I’ve read. Honestly, this whole trilogy took off into a level of brutality that is a completely new flavor than the previous novels. That’s saying something— Abercrombie is well known for his unbridled savagery in his writing. It was chaotic, messy, heartbreaking, and a hell of a ride

Review: The Black Locomotive by Rian Hughes

August 19, 2021 by Paige Leave a Comment

This is a book about architecture, technology, and what feels like a healthy dose of believable conspiracy theory. Trust me it works so well, I stayed up well into the night to finish this book as I just couldn’t stop reading. There was a point in the book where parts just felt like they could be completely real and true and I found myself thinking that I wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to actually be a real thing.

Legacy of the Brightwash takes you on a journey, the characters you meet at the start of the book go through huge emotional and moral changes throughout the course of the novel. It is such an amazing thing to read. Krystle Matar has managed to craft and develop so much in the course of just one book.
