Review: For The Throne (Wilderwood #2) by Hannah Whitten

June 22, 2022 by Eleni A.E. Leave a Comment

For The Throne really is everything you wish for in a sequel/series conclusion, in that it wraps up all the threads in a satisfying manner that isn’t necessarily what you’d expect, it honors already established characters while also giving the right amount of space to the ones who are now the main focus and, it does all that by improving on all that worked well before to make it even better.

Review: King of Battle and Blood (Adrian X Isolde #1) by Scarlett St. Clair

June 12, 2022 by Eleni A.E. 1 Comment

St. Clair’s story fits within a few great romance tropes, such as marriage of convenience and enemies to lovers, but it also employs some of my favorite tropes across any genre, for instance wrong/fake history being revealed for what it was, misconceptions being broken down, and an epic revenge story revealed gradually with great effect.

Review: Wild and Wicked Things by Francesca May

The story is dark, extravagant, and feels as if there is danger lurking around every corner—which to be fair, there is. The writing feels lush and intoxicating, luring you into this life of parties, prohibited magical drinks, and dark magic.

Book Tour and Review: Second Star to the Left (Reimagined Fairy Tales #1) by Megan Van Dyke

February 17, 2022 by Victoria Gross Leave a Comment

Truly, I cannot boast about this book enough. Rating this book was an easy task, as it captured my attention and my heart in the first chapter. Everyone loves a good Happily Ever After, and this one does not fail to deliver on every point. Plus, for those of you who just love a good dose of spice *wink wink,* this book has it in abundance. You will blush, cheer, and fall in love right along with the characters. If you need reminding that love can exist even in the most trying circumstances, this is a book for you.

Book Tour & Review: Second Star to the Left (Reimagined Fairy Tales #1) by Megan Van Dyke

February 15, 2022 by Justin 1 Comment

Overall, I really loved Second Star to the Left and I cannot wait for the next book in the Reimagined Fairy Tales series! The subtle ways in which the author changed the core characters to meet the narrative were the perfect choices to tell the story she wanted to tell. A beautifully written love story is at the core of this novel, but surrounding it is grand adventure, found family, and pirate ship battles. Can you think of a greater pairing?

Review: The Living Waters (Weirdwater Confluence #1) by Dan Fitzgerald

October 21, 2021 by Justin 4 Comments

The Living Waters is the first in a new duology from Dan Fitzgerald, the author of The Maer Cycle trilogy of books. I haven’t read his other series, but they are now definitely being shuffled closer to the top of my TBR, as The Living Waters grabbed ahold of my heart from the first page and didn’t let go. It’s a story bursting at the seams with adventure, wonder, and heart, and it’s one that has catapulted itself to the top of my favorite reads this year.

Review: These Violent Delights (These Violent Delights #1) by Chloe Gong

August 11, 2021 by Cassidee Lanstra Leave a Comment

You will probably know within a few chapters whether this book for you. Recently, I have had a talk with some other bloggers on our preferences, and how our love for either character centric or plot centric books can completely dictate what popular fantasies books we like. I am at heart, a character driven reader but I think I can honestly say that These Violent Delights is as plot driven as it is character driven; a perfect blend! I’m already itching to read the sequel in this duology, which will be out in November. I’m also utterly terrified, as I’m sure we are all wondering just how closely Gong is going to follow Shakespeare’s storylines.
