Review: The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen

May 24, 2024 by Eleni A.E. Leave a Comment

The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy is a charming and endearing adult comedy with lots of heart, nuanced relationships, cozy LGBTQ+ rep, foulmouthed characters, and a soft yet passionate romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously nor is it afraid to have flawed characters.

Three Mini Reviews in One

March 18, 2023 by Eleni A.E. Leave a Comment

Hello again dear reader or listener, I hope you are well!
Seen as I haven’t brought any reviews for your reading pleasure in a while, but I’ve also struggled to sit and write my usual long form ramblings because of reasons, I thought I’d try something a little different and present three mini reviews in one.
A Fantasy, a Gothic Romance, and a Romcom.

Review: A Gamble of Gods (The Order of the Dragon #1) by Mitriel Faywood

February 8, 2023 by Cassidee Lanstra Leave a Comment

Faywood blends so many different elements into A Gamble of Gods and it is quite unique compared to so many other books I’ve read in the SFF genres. There’s fantasy, romance, science fiction, and comedy facets that all work to make this something fresh.

Review: Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales

December 21, 2022 by Paige Leave a Comment

Okay so I loved this. I flew through it in just a few days and regretted every time I had to put it down. At first I was really worried it would lean heavily on the miscommunication trope, but I’m very happy to say that it’s resolved early on in the book, and the main focus becomes revenge. I loved seeing Maya and Skye come together to enact revenge on Jordy, and then how their friendship blossomed into something more.

When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella’s side of the story. At last, readers can experience Edward’s version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun.
