Review: Horns of the Hunter (Tales of Luah Fáil #1) by Frank Dorrian

May 31, 2021 by Justin Leave a Comment

Horns of the Hunter is a standalone novella set in Luah Fáil, a setting that will be familiar to those who have read some of Dorrian’s earlier works. I was completely sold upon seeing the wonderful cover by Felix Ortiz and Shawn T. King. Anyone who says they don’t judge a book by its cover is a liar.

Hello everyone and welcome to the cover reveal for Glass Rhapsody, the sequel to 2020’s Of Honey and Wildfires and follow up to this years companion novella, Oh, That Shotgun Sky. I have absolutely adored both of the books that have been released so far in The Songs of Sefate and I can’t wait for this next entry into the series. Finding Sarah’s work has been one of the great surprises of this year for me, so I am so excited to bring you all a little slice of what is next in line.

Review: Triggernometry and Advanced Triggernometry (Triggernometry #1-2) by Stark Holborn

April 12, 2021 by Justin Leave a Comment

Gun-slinging mathematicians in an alternate history Wild West shouldn’t work, right? Right? Well, I am here to tell you that it, in fact, does because that’s exactly what we have in Stark Holborn’s two Triggernometry novellas and somehow she manages to make math look cool.

Hello everyone and welcome to the cover reveal for the sequel to T.A. Bruno’s In the Orbit of Sirens. If you read my review of the first book then you know how much I liked it, so I am super excited to be able to share with you the cover for the forthcoming sequel, On the Winds of Quasars. The cover for the first book was phenomenal and the interior art was one of the best surprises I have experienced, so I am looking forward to seeing what all the author has in store for us.

Review: Stones of Light (Threadlight #2) by Zack Argyle

April 7, 2021 by Justin Leave a Comment

Stones of Light is the sequel to 2020’s Voice of War and the second book in Zack Argyle’s Threadlight trilogy. Although I had a few issues with the first book (you can read my spoiler free review here), I am happy to say that its sequel improved on every bit that made the first book great AND resolved my very minor gripes.

Review: Vultures (Shadow Twins #1) by Luke Tarzian

March 18, 2021 by Justin Leave a Comment

I’ll admit that I am a little unsure how to approach this review. Vultures was one of the most unique approaches to storytelling that I have ever experienced. It was complex, dark, emotional, and raw. The characters are all nuanced and they practically bleed pathos. In many ways this was not an easy read. I was challenged as a reader in ways I haven’t been since Erickson’s Gardens of the Moon.
