Review: Merry Fuckin’ Christmas and Other Yuletide Shit by Kevin J. Kennedy

December 11, 2021 by Erica Robyn Leave a Comment

Rating: 10/10

Synopsis

Kevin J. Kennedy has brought the horror world three bestselling Christmas horror anthologies. Now, for the first time ever he collects his own tales of Christmas madness between these pages. You will find a mix of extreme, comedy, gross and bizarro Christmas horror, and there is even a few drabbles thrown in.

Review

With a title like “Merry Fuckin’ Christmas and Other Yuletide Shit,” you know you’re in for quite the treat with this one!

Kevin J. Kennedy is an author that never shies away from the most extreme of horror elements. In this collection of horror short stories and drabbles that released in December of 2020, Kennedy definitely brings the horror.

Each tale is so different from the last and each of them packs quite the punch! Horror fans of all types are sure to find something here that is up their alley. Who knows, one of the stories may even push your boundaries a bit.

The title tale, Merry Fuckin’ Christmas, is one that I re-read every year. It’s a tale that begins pretty uplifting, and then takes a turn. But even while there is a clear awareness that something is wrong, readers will never guess what is about to happen next.

My favorite thing about reading short story collections during the month of December is the ability to pick the collection up, read a tale, and put it back down to help break up my other holiday related tasks. But if that is your goal with this one, you may find yourself putting off your other tasks… Kennedy’s writing is just too addicting!

If you’re looking to add a splash of red to your holiday season (and of course, I’m not talking about the usual red holiday decor or the red wine…), I highly recommend snagging a copy of this collection. It’s a must-read for fans of holiday horror!
