Synopsis
The touch of Death has manifested in Mallory’s mother and brother. Fearing anyone or anything that could spread Her influence, Mayor Florence banishes the family to the world outside, where they have no protection from the curse.
While the rest of town celebrates eternal life, Mallory festers in its shadow. She hides her family in a centuries-abandoned shack on the outskirts, where they can survive despite the plague rotting their bodies. She spends day after hellish day caring for them and dreading the day their deceit is discovered.
Then an enigmatic stranger comes to town, a sickly young woman who calls herself Raven and who knows more than she should. After meeting her, Mallory begins to believe there may be another way.
