Former child queen Elida was driven from her throne at age ten and forced to wander the galaxy, evading the revolutionary forces that wanted her dead. When an old frenemy claims to know the whereabouts of Elida’s long-lost mother, she is forced to return to her former kingdom and stage a rescue.
I recieved this wonderful kick-ass strong busting superpower comic via an earc from Netgalley.
It’s official. Vault Comics are my most favorite wonderful comic creators ever. I believe this debut comic, which is about an exiled Princess running away from her kingdom while being hunted by a power-hungry admiral named Lazaro, is at a whopping 169 pages. 169. You got it. 169.
This comic was written Magdalene Visaggio she did an amazing job with the dialogue. Amazing. Many times I found myself smirking, laughing, and grinning from ear to ear. This def has an Orville vibe to this. Full of humor, a lot of classic elements of sci-fi that I identified, and there was elements of Farscape as well in it. But there’s apparently a new TV show being made by Syfy based on this comic. I’ll put the link down below. Jason did a fantastic job with the art direction. Awesome guy.
Read this comic for Stelling. He’s the opinionated rogue that makes this world look like he’s having fun all the time! If I were to summarise this comic: It’s about a two good nothing admiral that killed his own father, kidnapped the exiled royal princess Elida and her backstabbing friend who resembles Jack Sparrow in personality for a small kidney stone that gave Eldia’s family the ability to be worshipped as Gods through mind control.
That doesn’t sound awesome to you? It gets better. The admiral’s a crazed queen hunter, who wants the mind controlling necklace in an ancient monastery. Does this bring flashbacks of Star Trek Discovery Season 2/3? And Stelling is the root cause of all this chaos. There are themes that are similar to the French revolution. The world building, the art, the drawings, everything about this is awesome. It’s got kickass robots in space, epic worldbuilding. Everything is good. Some weaknesses I found was that I think the Admiral should have had more scenes developing his lonely side, and I wanted more difficulty for the admiral as he plots his course to become a power crazy God. Otherwise awesome.
Oh and the links for the new TV show:
