Cover Reveal: Hydra One (Tin-Can Galleon #2) by Jake Theriault

October 11, 2024 by Andy Peloquin Leave a Comment

Yoooooo, where my sci-fi lovers at?

Today, we’ve got a treat for you: a brand new sci-fi cover to reveal!

Our cover today comes from Jake Theriault, an author who says of himself, “I love to write stuff and I’m tired of hoarding it like some weird dragon.”

Yeah, that’s a pretty cool bio!

Or, a more official bio:

Jake Theriault is an author, screenwriter, and Regional Emmy Award-winning filmmaker living in the Chicagoland area. His work has been lauded as “vivid”, “gorgeous”, “beautiful and cerebral”; and has drawn comparisons to works like Firefly, The Expanse, and the novels of the Star Wars extended universe.

In 2023, he released the first book in his Tin-Can Galleon series, titled “Hollow Sun”:

Now he’s back with the SECOND book in the series, and he’s got some epic art to show off!

But first…

Synopsis:

At the edge of space is a river into Hell…

Decades after losing contact with the distant Praeter System, a mysterious burst of energy is detected in Neptune’s orbit; and JCA Hydra One is sent to investigate. Deputy Wing Commander Max Hillis watches uneasily as the Hydra’s march towards Neptune begins to feel eerily familiar. Something is wrong with this mission. But what? When they arrive, all they find is a ghost ship—cold and abandoned—alone in the night, at least until the stars around Neptune begin to tear…

(Note from the Author: Hydra One is the second novel in the Tin-Can Galleon series Though technically a direct sequel, the two novels can be read in any order.)

Well…YES. Nuff said. I’m in.

With no further ado, behold the AWESOME cover:

And the art sans typography:

About Andy Peloquin

I am, first and foremost, a storyteller and an artist--words are my palette. Fantasy and science fiction are my genres of choice, and I love to explore the darker side of human nature through the filter of heroes, villains, and everything in between. I'm also a freelance writer, a book lover, and a guy who just loves to meet new people and spend hours talking about my fascination for the worlds I encounter in the pages of fantasy and sci-fi novels.
Speculative fiction provides us with an escape, a way to forget about our mundane problems and step into worlds where anything is possible. It transcends age, gender, religion, race, or lifestyle--it is our way of believing what cannot be, delving into the unknowable, and discovering hidden truths about ourselves and our world in a brand-new way. Fiction at its very best!
