Anna Dupre’s Top 10 Reads of 2023
The end of 2023 marks the closing of a year that I have dedicated to broadening my literary horizons and pushing myself in my love for reading. On a personal note, there were lots of firsts this year: I wrote my first full review, received my first ARC, and conducted my first author interview. All […]
Eleni’s Top Reads of 2023
Hello again dear reader or listener, remember the week between Xmas and NY doesn’t count for Santa’s list, so I hope you’ve been having fun these last few days of 2023!
If I’m being honest 2023 was a bit of a mixed bag and life stuff plus the undertaking of an MRes meant much less leisure reading for me this year. If I hadn’t signed up for so many ARCs in fact, I doubt I’d have read as much as I did in the end. But I am also pleased to say I had some great reads regardless and now I’m gonna do my best to give you a top five. This was the year I leaned a bit more into the thriller/horror/Gothic ambiances even though in this list you’ll also find various subgenres of fantasy such as steampunk, epic, and historical fantasy, as well as some romance.
Ashley’s Top Reads of 2023
Ashley’s Top Reads of 2023. I have completed 79 books for 2023 that were largely adventurous, dark, emotional, and mysterious. My top reads this year ended up being an eclectic bunch.
My Favorite SFF Reads of 2023
2023 was an exceptional year in reading for me. First because I read more books this year than I had read in previous years. Second because of all the connections that I’ve made in the book community through BookTube as well as FanFiAddict. I read so many wonderful books this year. This list is by […]
A.J.’s Top 10 Reads of 2023
It was hard to narrow down my top reads of the year. For anyone who has followed me on social media or through my blog, you know I read a lot. This year’s total was 70 books, which I think is a record for me. And it was tough to pick only 10. I’m a […]
Charlie Battison’s Best Horror of 2023
And just like that another year goes by! To be selfish for just a second, 2023 has been a great year for me and my reading. I finally feel like my university hangover has come to an end and so I have read more than ever before! At the time of writing, that is 50 […]
Francisca’s Year of Malazan
What happens when you spend the year devoting all your time amongst rowdy marines and meddlesome gods? Well, it destroys your TBR and you start swearing by Hood’s balls at every opportune chance. This has been my year of Malazan and I rarely ventured outside of the series to read anything else. So, here is […]
Frasier’s Favourites of 2023
2023 has been an incredible year for sci-fi, particularly when it comes to debut authors. A glut of new voices have announced themselves on the scene over the last twelve months, while established writers have continued to up their game. Chances are, either your favourite author has released their best book this year, or you’ve […]
C. J. Daley’s (CJDsCurrentRead) Top Reads of 2023
Another year gone, another chunk of my TBR entirely ignored while a read an entire set of books that were new to me (for the most part). From finishing the inaugural Indie Ink Awards at the start of the year, to my first year with BBNYA and SFINCS, I’ve pretty much counted anything I wrote […]
Jenn’s Top Reads of 2023
Another year done, many more pages read and no, the TBR is of course not any smaller. This year I read over 100 books for the first time, and while number based reading goals don’t mean a whole lot to me, reading that many in one year was something I never expected to accomplish. Here […]
Josh Hanson’s Best Horror of 2023
2023 strikes me as a year in which here were a shocking number of great debuts, but as I look back, the trend seems to be a year in which established writers in the horror scene have all of a sudden thrown down their very best work, many of them publishing books that I have […]
