TITLE REVEAL: Adrian M. Gibson’s new Fungalverse Novella ๐Ÿ„

July 15, 2025 by Adrian M. Gibson Leave a Comment

The knives are out in A MURDER MOST FUNGAL, a fast-paced Fungalverse novella. Set several months after the events of my award-winning debut novel Mushroom Blues, this side story combines the culinary wonder of Jiro Dreams of Sushi, the kitchen chaos of The Bear, and the explosive tension of Hong Kong crime thrillers.

The story follows Pocho Jiro, a once-renowned makizushi chef, as he runs the kitchen for the military leader of the human colonizers. But one day, a run-in with fungal gangsters sets off a chain of events that Pocho cannot escape from. With his sister’s life on the line, Pocho is forced to commit a murder most fungal … or watch his sister die before his eyes.

As well, to celebrate this title reveal, Mushroom Blues is ON SALE worldwide on Amazon! Get the eBook for $0.99 or the paperback for $12.99 from July 15-19 (sale prices are in USD, but all Amazon territories will have an equivalent discount price).

About Adrian M. Gibson

Adrian M. Gibson is a Canadian writer, tattoo artist and illustrator living in Quito, Ecuador. He has been a fantasy and sci-fi reader since he was a kid, growing up on stories from J. R. R. Tolkien, Brian Jacques, C. S. Lewis, Madeline lโ€™Engle and more, as well as anime and comic books. Now, his love of the genres comes through in everyday life, seeping into his writing, tattoos and illustrations. There are few aspects of fantasy and sci-fi that he dislikes, but cyberpunk and near-future sci-fi are what really grab himโ€”even better if itโ€™s a character-driven story.
