Synopsis
Coco Wells hasn’t seen another living person since she was a teenager. All of Manhattan is reliving the same few seconds, minutes, or hours on a loop… and they have been for years. Everything looks normal from a distance, but up close it’s a nightmare.
Coco is a survivor. She scavenges for food, reads, and—most importantly—avoids loopers. They ignore her, but only as long as she’s silent. She’s learned the painful lesson that a broken loop can mean death.
After eight years of solitude, learning to survive and precisely timing the loops that weave around the city, Coco wonders what lies beyond New York and what has become of the rest of the world.
As she leaves home for the first time, one question haunts her above all:
“Am I the only one left?”
Review
Thanks to my friend David Walters for giving me this fantastic post-apocalyptic, dystopian, sci-fi novel, I absolutely couldn’t get enough. I actually finished it in one sitting. It was a really interesting premise and beautifully written. I was so hooked with the characters and their storylines that it just made it so hard to put down.
The Never-Ending End of the World is a wonderful standalone book written by Ann Christy and my first adventure with the author, and after spending time in her worlds, it definitely won’t be my last.
If you are looking for a book to get lost in for a while or just stuck in a loop of time, this is for you. Fantastic worldbuilding, excellent twists, and turns, the characters just feel so real, as if you’re living their lives with them as they come terms with ajusting to their new world and nightmare after an experiment caused the world into time loops.
In this book, our main protagonist, Coco, who has been living alone for eight years. Her home and the City of Manhattan are stuck in a time loop. Coco is a survivor. She scavenges for food, reads, and most importantly, she avoids loopers. They ignore her, but only as long as she remains silent, She’s has learned over the years that to interfere and break loopers can mean death for them.
Thinking she is the only surviver, she finally meets real live people who will take her on a road to new discoveries, new nightmares, and to seek out the truth, and how this new reality came to fruition.
It was a most enjoyable read from beginning to end, and damn what an ending it was. I very highly recommend that you check this out. You won’t regret it…😃💙
