Review
D.B. Rook is back with another dark visceral horror story from A “Shadows of the Collegiate” Short Story collection, No Hook for the Hood takes you down to the darkest depths of life within the town that settles at the cold cliff’s of the Collegiate.
This is the second short story released so far, and it’s darker, a blood drenched grimalicious tale where those of the Collegiate sorcerers rule over the destitute, weak, and uneducated townsfolk.
The Collegiate is no ordinary place, full of sorcery, dark magic, and sinister going ons. When dealing out justice for those who break the law, the High Justiciar has their own showman, executioner, and limb chopper, and he goes by the name of Grawnden Tweed.
Grawnden Twèed is coming up to his last day, a man dedicated to his duties and his celebrity status of life under the Hood, but what happens when the Hood is hung and you’re left to contemplate the dark corners of your mind and think about to all those you dealt justice and death, the nightmares and visions, hell is coming and it’s gonna be bloody.
I absolutely love D.B. Rooks writing, with each release he goes from strength to strength, and with each story, you are hooked and drawn into an dark tale that fills you with chills, a fast-paced story that sets you on edge for the horrors that await and what could be a horrible end for some of his characters.
It is an absorbing and engrossing story from start to finish. If you love dark fantasy or Grimdark. Check out D.B. Rooks book Callus and Crow the first book in his Wayward World Chronicles series. It’s absolutely brilliant, and I very highly recommend….😁🔥🖤🪓
