Review: Morning Star (Red Rising Series #3) by Pierce Brown

January 13, 2024 by Alan Behan Leave a Comment

Rating: 10/10

Synopsis

Darrow would have lived in peace, but his enemies brought him war. The Gold overlords demanded his obedience, hanged his wife, and enslaved his people. But Darrow is determined to fight back. Risking everything to transform himself and breach Gold society, Darrow has battled to survive the cutthroat rivalries that breed Society’s mightiest warriors, climbed the ranks, and waited patiently to unleash the revolution that will tear the hierarchy apart from within.

Finally, the time has come.

But devotion to honor and hunger for vengeance run deep on both sides. Darrow and his comrades-in-arms face powerful enemies without scruple or mercy. Among them are some Darrow once considered friends. To win, Darrow will need to inspire those shackled in darkness to break their chains, unmake the world their cruel masters have built, and claim a destiny too long denied—and too glorious to surrender.

Review

Aries balls, this series is an absolute masterpiece. How can a series make you so happy one moment, then rip your soul out the next moment, then happy again, then only to stomp all over that happiness again with its unbelievable twist and turns that just spring up out of no where. It should come with a warning that may cause severe anxiety..😁

Morning Star is the third book in Pierce Brown’s brilliant Red Rising series. Every moment I’ve spent with these incredible characters has been an absolutely emotional roller coaster. Thank Aries, I’ve still got another three books to read yet because I’m not ready to leave this solar system, just yet.

It takes a great author to piece together such a wonderful story with all its brilliant character development. The sacrifices, the love, the camaraderie, and enemies that will destroy everything and kill everyone just to see your head in a box. You won’t be able to put this book down.

If you love sci-fi fantasy, that is action-packed with epic space battles, and epic worldbuilding and plot that will just blow your mind. Look no further than this master class of literature.

When the top caste of society believe they are God’s and rule those beneath them with an iron fist through slavery, subordination, and death, its time to break the chains. A hero must rise, and to do that, you have to die first.

Darrow and his Howlers face the might of the Gold Lords who show no mercy to their enemies. The revolution must be crushed at all costs. To win, Darrow will need to inspire those shackled in darkness to break their chains, unmake the world their cruel masters have built, and claim a destiny too long denied to them. It’s time for vengeance or rot in the shadows forever.

Absolutely spectacular. That ending gave me goosebumps, a wonderful read, and now one of my favourite series of all time, and I’m still not done yet. If you haven’t read this series, I implore and very highly recommend that you remedy straight away. Now for Iron Gold….😁🔥⚡️🗡
