September 10, 2024 by Alan Behan Leave a Comment

Rating: 10/10

Synopsis

Broken Brotherhood, the fourth and final book in The Brotherhood of the Eagle fantasy series by Tim Hardie

The final conflict between the Brotherhood of the Eagle and King Adalrikr Kinslayer approaches. Johan Jokellsward’s forces lay siege to Adalrikr’s stronghold, preparing to launch a deadly and decisive assault.

Far to the north, Rothgar returns to freshly liberated Norlhast, following his own adventures on the Fire Isle. Rothgar is reunited with his sister Nuna, and they prepare to sail with her husband, the Norlhast chief, to aid the Brotherhood and honour a broken oath.

Rothgar carries weapons forged by the gods, fashioned to defeat Adalrikr and undo his dark magic. Yet prophecies of ruin and failure follow Rothgar, and if those come to pass the Brotherhood’s efforts will end in tragic defeat. Is his destiny to defy those predictions, or will Rothgar lead everyone he loves to their doom?

In Broken Brotherhood, The Brotherhood of the Eagle series reaches its epic conclusion. Who will prevail, and at what cost?

Review

Wow, what an absolutely incredible conclusion to what was one of the most epic series I have read in the last couple of years. The Brotherhood of the Eagle has it all, raw emotion, epic battles, a journey and adventure like no other that you will go on with these incredible characters as they are put through their trials and tribulations of good vs evil.

Broken Brotherhood is the fourth and and final instalment of the Brotherhood of the Eagle series. Tim Hardies, writing is so good, his wonderful prose and excellent worldbuilding transports you into his beautiful dark world from the very first page leaving you in awe with his craftsmanship to weave a tale that I will love and never forget for a very long time to come.

Broken Brotherhood is so intense that it almost feels so real that you feel every emotion and loss as the characters are put through their paces by the author. Tim Hardie is the new Grim Reaper of fantasy as he chops, cuts and scythes through his characters, leaving you thinking will there be any my favourites left by the end in this blood drenched grimalicious, axe wielding tale.

If you love a good norse themed story, full of excellent plots, twists and turns that will leave you floored. A story full of political intrigue, epic clan warfare, dark magic, dragons, brilliant character growth, and the battles are so bloody and intense that you vividly feel every axe to face, literally. Then you will absolutely love this very dark series.

In this final book, the fight against the Durath continues, an evil that has crossed over from the shadow realm to the real world to take possession of Vorund Clan Chief Adalrikr and to bring death to those who don’t fall in line and to rule the other clans of Laskar for his sinister purpose.

Rothgar has returned from the legendary Fire Isle of the Gods, bringing Bruars magical weapons with him to give the Brotherhood of the Eagle a chance at finally being able to defeat an evil that has, plagued and destroyed so many of their families and clans.

The Brotherhood of the Eagle has taken the war to the Vorund stronghold, with the clans untied, enemies of old come together bringing a host of warriors and magical rune blades to put the Duraths reign of terror to an end. Will the Brotherhood prevail or will betrayal destroy all they’ve worked hard and fought for. Read it to find out, you won’t regret it.

If you haven’t read The Brotherhood of the Eagle series yet, I reckon you should remedy that. It’s an amazing story, and it’s clear how much hard work, love, and his soul, Tim Hardie, has put into it. I very highly recommend…😁🖤🗡☠️🪓
