Rating: 9.5/10

Synopsis

A war, then. A war of our own. A war for perfection and cleanliness and order.
A war to end suffering.
A war to end filth and disease.
A war to end immorality and injustice.
A war to end blasphemy.
The last war this world would ever see.
A war to end all.

Review

Holy Geisteskraken’s balls, that was bloody brilliant. What do you get when two of your favourite disturbing authors of grimdark come together and co-write another grizzly tale, another disgusting, hilarious, grimalicious epic classic, That’s what.

A War To End All is an absolute gem, and the third and final book of the amazing Manifest Delusions series written by Michael R Fletcher and Clayton W Snyder.

Where do I start? This book left me floored with laughter. You know, when these two get together, they weren’t gonna hold back on their grisly and bloody aspects of their writing. This story is dark, flows beautifully, and with a mix of their prose together, it truly is a pleasure to read.

The worldbuilding, setting, and plot are fantastic, oh, and the characters are absolutely excellent. For me, the Dopples or Reflections stole the show in this one. Their story arcs was just Perfection, A Contamination of brilliance, and without a Doubt magical.

In the Dark City of Selbsthass, where delusions become real to the insane on wanting to become imperfect God’s. Dreams become nightmares, and nightmares become reality.

With friends gone to the afterdeath, Wichtig Lugner is the greatest swordsman in the world and is on a mission to make himself beautiful and perfect again, scarred, missing an ear and fingers he sets out to find the goddling Morgen to make him whole again.

Morgen is at war with Gottlos and is looking to make the world perfect. When he sets his dopples out to do his work, but with plots backstabbing of their own, things are about to become beautifully insane.

Damn everything I read of Michael and Clayton’s books. They always deliver with their witticisms, their dark worlds that keep spewing out monsters, and unimaginable nightmares are incredible. This one made me cry out loud, and what a brilliant ending to a series if do say so.

If you haven’t checked out any of their work and you love your fantasy, dark and grim. I can vouch and very highly recommend that you won’t be disappointed….🖤💀🔥😁🗡
