Gunslinger. Skyhorse rider. Lone Wolf. Malvius is a veteran gunslinger in Larragon, a six-planet solar system with two rivers: two train lines linking each planet together. The two rivers are a beehive for opportunists merchants and feisty gunslingers.

All you need to survive in Larragon is a skyhorse to roam the open space and a gunblaster to protect your hide and earn your keep. Wild moons and saloons are aplenty, money is easily made and lost, but life for Malvius isn’t about money, it is about helping who needs helping, shooting who needs shooting.

Along comes the Raoke Gang, shattered, their leader wounded, half of the gang incarcerated. Malvius feels compelled to help. Little did he know that simply relaying a message from their leader to the survivors of the Raoke Gang will send him on a wild course of events that will see him facing off a space wizard, assisting a space train heist, and become Larragon’s most wanted man.

About the Author

Image

I am Alex Valdiers, first of his name, King of Space Western Fantasy, King of French Fantasy, King of Laotian Fantasy, breaker of TBRs, Father of the Raoke Gang, and a big admirer of George R.R. Martin and his Song of Ice and Fire.

I grew up East of the English-speaking world: France. When I was 16, I went to high school in Lyon. It was a violent place but four stops further on the metro (the subway) there was the Institut Lumiere, the birthplace of cinema. I spent most of my school days there and I met its president, the legendary filmmaker Bertrand Tavernier, who gave me the single greatest advice I have ever received:

“If you want to be a storyteller, you need to read all the works from all the great writers and watch all the movies from the great film directors. Do not start your writing career before you’ve read, watched and learned from them all. Be patient, be curious, be prepared.”

After 19 years of planning, writing and failing, producing 6 unpublished novels (5 in French, 1 in English), over 100 short stories (12 published), 5 plays and a poetry collection, in August 2023, on my wife’s birthday, I have finally debuted my writing career with the first book in my gigantic Space Western Fantasy series: the Raoke Gang.
