All About The World of Tea Princess Chronicles

October 9, 2024 by Adam Bassett Leave a Comment

Casey Blair has returned to Sayorsen with the release of The World of Tea Princess Chronicles: An Illustrated Companion. If you don’t already know Casey from her successful indie trilogy, Tea Princess Chronicles, you may have at least seen her in FanFiAddict’s 2024 TBRCon, in a panel on the rise of cozy fantasy!

This new companion to the series contains all of the short stories from Tales from a Magical Teashop for free. Plus, you’ll find exclusive character profiles, maps, descriptions of each magic system, Casey’s novelette Saiyana’s Challenge, and more included in the book’s bonus content. There’s never been a better time to jump back into the world of Tea Princess Chronicles—or to discover it for the first time.

What are the Tea Princess Chronicles?

The World of Tea Princess Chronicles is a book featuring stories from Casey Blair’s cozy fantasy series Tea Princess Chronicles, now with bonus content written by Casey and all-new commissioned artwork. Despite the cozy label, the series tackles some high-stakes subjects, as well as offering some delightful slice-of-life stories.

Fans of Travis Baldree (Legends & Lattes), Sarah Beth Durst (The Spellshop), and Rebecca Thorne (Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea) should take note. This behind-the-scenes companion book includes a wealth of delightful worldbuilding, artwork, and secrets… Casey said “there’s a specific piece of information I only hinted at in the books that I make explicit [in the companion book], that I think some people will be surprised by, and I’m excited for everyone to know that’s canon.”

Steep into The World of Tea Princess Chronicles!

The World of Tea Princess Chronicles is a perfect introduction to the Tea Princess Chronicles series, bringing it to life in a new way for longtime fans and discovering readers alike. Reference an assortment of bonus content as you follow along with vignettes of serving teas made from magical ingredients in Tales from a Magical Teashop, the epilogue novelette Saiyana’s Challenge, and the previously exclusive short story “Take a Chance on Tea.”

This digital special edition features never-before-seen art of fan-favorite characters, interactive world and city maps, in-depth articles exploring the bestselling cozy fantasy series, and more.

Brew yourself a cup of tea, and immerse yourself in a cozy, magical world full of teas and tisanes, found family, and making the world a little better, one cup of tea at a time.

Info about the World of Tea Princess Chronicles' contents including exclusive art, detailed descriptions of places and magic systems, and short fiction.

What’s in the The World of Tea Princess Chronicles?

In addition to Casey’s short stories from Tales from a Magical Teashop and Saiyana’s Challenge, Campfire worked with Casey to create a ton of bonus content for The World of Tea Princess Chronicles.

Meet the Cast & Explore the City of Sayorsen

The World of Tea Princess Chronicles includes twenty character profiles featuring the series’ cast, each with details that even the biggest TPC fans might have missed.

The book also includes details about nine locations, five items, five magic systems, and more. There are 47 Extras in total, most of which come with an illustration.

Exclusive Art

The World of Tea Princess Chronicles boasts 47 pieces of art, plus the cover, illustrated by Julianna Draga.

Bebeto Daroz illustrated the book’s 20 pieces of character art and a full scene set in Talmeri’s Teas and Tisanes.

Catrin Russell illustrated the world map.

Cole Field illustrated TPC’s five magic systems, four article thumbnails, three interior sketches, and the city map of Sayorsen.

Gaston S. Garcia illustrated nine location illustrations and five items.

All of the artists worked closely with Casey to make sure that they made everything just as she imagined it. She had this to say when we asked her about working with them:

“What I’m more looking for is vibe, what the art evokes. The artist’s rendering may not be exactly what I would imagine for a character or an object, but often it’s even better… The art of the shrine was like the artist reached into my mind and plucked out the image without my realizing I had one. And, of course, the Cataclysm, too—how do you evoke such a physically impossible place? I love the direction the artist went.”

Saiyana’s Challenge, a Cozy Fantasy Novelette

Set after the events of the main trilogy, Saiyana’s Challenge is included with the book’s Extras. The novelette contains spoilers for the main trilogy, so proceed with that knowledge in mind!

Dramatic magic, delicate political intrigue, and risky romance? There’s only one princess for the job.

On paper, everything is fine. The world is saved, after all.

But Princess Saiyana, brilliant royal seneschal and one of the two most talented mages in history, is falling apart.

Not only has her ordered life been upended, she’s poised to lose the love of her life and her longtime rival—the other most talented mage in history—if she doesn’t take action. But there are no actions she can take to keep him that won’t put both of them in jeopardy.

Unless this time, it’s her turn to change all the rules.
